Thank you for visiting my channel. I hope you enjoy my videos as much as I've enjoyed creating them. I was born in Northern California in 1942 and continue to this day to discover wonderful video opportunities in my own backyard. Videography has become a rewarding hobby for me since retiring. I'm basically self-taught and have developed my techniques by observing what I like from what others have done. I've also been served well by following some basic principles of cinematography. My focus is not any particular subject, rather, whatever strikes my interest at the time. My greatest reward is being able to share my work to all who are interested and the great people I have had the honor to meet along the way. My second greatest reward is having one of my videos selected to receive a California Governors Historic Preservation Award. Best Regards, Charley

Lassen's Painted Dunes
Просмотров 3767 месяцев назад
The Painted Dunes are multicolored pumice fields formed by oxidation of volcanic ash as they fell out of volcanic eruptions that have sculpted the area inside Lassen National Park in Northern California. The ash on Painted Dunes is brightly oxidized because it fell on lava flows when they were still hot. The Painted Dunes are best viewed during the "golden hour," from the top of Cinder Cone, a ...

Mesmerizing to watch.
These are the White Supremacist Joe Biden warns against
They aren't reliant upon the electric grid. How dare they! An environmental disaster!
My Dad and I have an old PTO driven circular sawmill. We’ve spent something on the order of two years trying to adjust until the saw runs perfectly straight and haven’t managed it yet. A board significantly thicker on one end than the other is still okay for a lot of rough construction projects of course, but not really saleable.
Keep after it. Thanks for watching the video.
Wow where is this place do you have working. Vacations.. Would love to come spend a few days
Unfortunately, not open to the public but you are welcome to enjoy all my videos of the mill.
The old lift is really cool
I agree. Thanks for watching.
Pahh...muy bueno!
Thanks, glad you liked it.
I could watch this for hours.
Go for it. Thanks.
That vehicle is a 2nd gen 1948 Chevy Coe truck
I think I heard them say it's a 1940. Thanks for watching.

Good to see Jerry Garcia is keeping busy.
Thanks for watching the video.
the music playing is relaxing
Thank you and thanks for watching the video.
Question, why instead of using giant saw blades you use a bandsaw style blade? it seems it would be a lot more efficient and less taxing on equipment.
The mill owners want to preserve it in its original state. Also, many of the buyers of the lumber are builders of unique custom homes and want the circular pattern made by these saws. Thanks for watching the video.
At 65 and getting ready to retire I wouldn't mind working there for free just to learn a new trade. As a automotive mechanic all the moving parts and how everything works together is fascinating. Big respect for the danger too.
Best wishes on retirement. Thanks for watching the video.
Greetings from Europe. You have a beautiful toy. I'm honestly envious. At 5:07 a loose shaft bearing can be seen. It would be desirable to tighten it so that there is no more serious malfunction.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
i'm 19, and great video, i love it
Very good. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Great old mill, what in the world type of forklift is that? Very cool 👍
The forklift is a Gerlinger. Thanks for watching the video.
I love the truck.
it's a keeper.
One of my automotive adventures many decades ago was turning an old sedan into a truck. Mine did not turn out this well.
@@GlenSpivey that one looks sweet. I would drive that every day.
You gotta love that the old stuff just keeps on working thanks for show.

I’m a mechanic at a family business all our equipment around the shop is old but I like it that way it’s simple to work on easy to maintain, cheaper to run and aren’t gadget ridden like modern stuff
You got that right. Thanks for watching.
Thanks, your mill videos are some of my favorites.
Glad you like them!
Thanks for the tour!!!
Glad you came along.
I loooove this! About what era was all this equipment made?
Much of the equipment dates back to 1900. Thanks for watching.
Thank you I needed a sawmill fix...
Me Too. Thanks for watching.
any sawmill is a crazy noise job
Thanks for watching.
You haven't been working at PVC pipe production. It's in orders of magnitude louder.
Enjoyed the video. I liked seeing branding done this way, as we here in Texas don’t normally head and heel. We just heel and drag to a flanking crew. The comradery of the crew and the flow was especially enjoyable to see. Best of all, I LOVED reading the comments, and your response to the detractors.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
I have an old mirror on the ceiling hanging so I can watch the cut from the side while I'm drinking.
Very good. Keep on watching but watch the drinking. 😊
The old mills, hobos that work em,reside around the belt saws 😅
No Hobo's at this mill. College grads. Expert engineers, architects, economist, you name it. Thanks for watching the video.
Must be the intown, here. Purchase lady nailed down about a quarter m per year, mill workers paid less than,high-school Interns still in school, before college. Sweat shop and everyone deaf
They did upgrade Model A
Whenever you see some old equipment or bridges or ships which are riveted, They OLD. As welding began wide spread use in the 1940s. !

Great little light festival , marvellous creations . 👍🏴
Was a sight to see.
Hey great 2 C from U again ! I think I had you on full black bell tap since right around when I first subscribed to you years ago & it seems YT hasn't shown me anything you've done in the last year or I think even more... Looking forward to watching the rest of your new stuff soon. Tq. (2/Jun/2024-3:50pm🇦🇺EST)
Thank you, I hope you find all my new stuff.
Super cool ❗❗❗👍👍👍
Thanks, I'm glad you like it.
How does one track the drive belts ?
That I don't know as I just make videos.
@@MrShoptaw I understand. Thanks. For modern equipment drive belt pulleys have micro adjustable suspensions. I would expect that older equipment would have something similar. Adjusting pulleys is critical for operating modern belt systems so they do not fall off under load.
Why was the tree wet before they saw it
Mills of this time period used ponds to sort and stage the logs for sawing.
Steam Harnesses the power of Nature like no other form of power. There is in fact a SOUL in Each Steam engine, and yours is alive and well. Thank You from Dunsmuir!

It is a sight to see. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for watching the video.
This is fantastic.. Old time machine. Still useable. What year this sawmill build
When their original mill built in 1897 was destroyed by a flood, they built this on in the 1930's.
Love it, i thought the old truck was fantastic.
You and me both!
Nice vid of a old hillbilly steamer sawmill. 😅 Those tandem sawblades looks dangerous tho... Hell the whole mill do. Stay safe and keep those timbers rolling. 😄👍
Thanks for watching.
